Zeromits Record Studio: frequently asked questions

Answers about fairness, files, privacy and how Zeromits Record Studio works.

Does Zeromits Record Studio upload my recording?

No. Screen compositing and recording use browser APIs on your device. The tool does not upload the recording to Zeromits. When you choose Download, your browser handles saving the file.

Why can’t I record on my phone?

Screen capture support and available options vary by browser and operating system. The full experience is designed primarily for desktop browsers that support getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder. If your mobile browser does not expose screen capture, use a supported desktop browser.

Can I record system audio and my microphone together?

Choose System Audio + Microphone and grant microphone permission. Whether system audio is available depends on the browser and the screen-sharing option you selected.

Which video formats are supported?

The format list is detected from the browser’s MediaRecorder support. WebM is commonly supported; MP4 is available only when the current browser supports the requested MIME type.

Can I record for hours?

Long, high-resolution recordings can consume substantial memory. Test your setup first, use a lower resolution or frame rate if necessary, and download the recording before closing or resetting the page.

Is this fully offline?

The recorder uses local browser APIs and has no recording-upload service. A first visit still requires loading the webpage, and screen capture requires a secure context such as HTTPS or localhost. Do not assume every browser feature works without a network connection.
